It's not just the tongue. Messi's boots tend to have an upper that is either k-leather or a form of hybrid touch. Also, they use the soleplate from the Messi 15 and 16 line. I'm sure there's a ton of other small modifications as well. Messi hasn't worn a "stock" pair of boots for more than 15 years now.
